POSITION SUMMARY
The Event Operations Manager is responsible for the delivery and overall management of the market days organised by Craft Markets Australia (CMA). Our markets are held on weekends and located in 10 locations across Victoria. This role will report to the General Manager and will be supported by the CMA Events team.

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Event Manager with proven success in managing events across a busy yearly schedule. You must have exceptional customer service skills as you will be representing CMA to stallholders and the general public.

You will bring a passion for event management, enthusiasm for delivering successful markets and are a team player who enjoys working in a close-knit team. You are a problem solver and must be able to work under pressure without losing attention to detail or quality of work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the delivery and overall management of CMA markets. This includes bump-in, during the event and bump-out.

Responsible for the safety of stallholders, staff and market patrons at CMA markets.

Responsible for ensuring markets are delivered on time, safely and within line with management direction.

Responsible for implementation of management plans onsite i.e., Risk Management, COVIDSafe Management, Emergency Management, Stallholder Management, Staff Management, Traffic Management

Act as Chief Warden, when required.

Oversee and manage stallholder and supplier relationships on market days.

Work closely with key stakeholders and stallholders to ensure the delivery of successful markets

Attend multiple event sites across different locations throughout the year - including Red Hill, Portsea, Hanging Rock, Mornington, Yarra Glen, Daylesford, Sorrento, Flemington and Mount Martha. Other locations may be added throughout the year.

Ensure CMA staff, stallholders and market patrons receive outstanding customer service during the event.

Coordinating suppliers, venue managers and stallholders on market days.

Managing CMA event staff and conducting team briefings.

Managing OH&S and logistical operations.

Coordinating necessary administrative duties and managing site communications.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
-
A minimum of 3 years’ experience delivering events with proven experience in the overall management of successful events.
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
-
Experience implementing management plans i.e., risk, emergency, operational, traffic, incident.
-
A demonstrated ability to oversee and manage the OH&S requirements to deliver safe events.
-
Experience managing staff.
-
Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders e.g., stallholders, market patrons, third party suppliers and venue managers.

The ability to hit the ground running with limited supervision.

Full driver’s licence and your own vehicle, or able to drive a mid-size transit vehicle and/or small truck (no special licence required).

Demonstrated organisational, event management and administrative skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and problem solve.

Detailed understanding of OH&S Procedures and event industry standards

This role includes mainly weekend hours, from bump in to bump out of markets. Some flexible week days may be required at management discretion. Due to COVID-19, markets may be changed or cancelled at late notice and work is not always guaranteed.
