They are a versatile food wrap that keeps food fresher for longer without costing the earth.

Hi, my name is Dana, and together with my husband, we run this small business.

... and this is my story :)

I was born in Slovakia, a beautiful country full of mountains and fairy-tale-like castles.
My grandad was a beekeeper. As kids, we always had bees buzzing around us. And most of all there was always some yummy honey for our family and friends.
My granddad kept some hives at home and I have vivid memories of him sitting outside and hand-carving wooden sculptures, which of course were used as homes for our bees. We also had around 40 beehives just a short drive away at my great grandparent's farmhouse. My granddad also kept bees in an old train carriage which he sometimes relocated adjacent to fields based on what types of flowers were in season.

We loved beeswax “chewing gum”; honeycomb full of sweet honey which we always chewed on while our grandparents were collecting honey. My dad was often helping too, and while they were hard at work we would often explore the nearby forest, or swim or fish in the dam at the adjacent property.

My grandma used to make beeswax wraps as well. She used any offcuts she would have in the house and wrapped our lunches in them. That was before our generation became so attached to plastic; before we had the knowledge about how detrimental plastic is to our environment and ecosystem.

Fast forward 20 years, when I found myself studying at university in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. During those years I met my husband and moved to Australia, following my heart. Now we have 2 beautiful kids on our own.

My father-in-law is a hobby beekeeper as well. He is always on the run helping friends with their beehives, passing on his knowledge further. Bees somehow always find their way to our lives.

And so, it was no surprise to anyone that when my kids were born and we decided to start our own journey to a minimal-waste household that I started to make beeswax wraps to replace plastic in our kitchen.

Did you know that just by using a beeswax wrap each day, you can save around 250 meters of cling wrap and plastic packaging from being thrown away each year?

My business is my passion and I always strive to deliver the highest quality wraps possible. It took me well over a year of testing and adjusting a recipe that my grandma passed on to me so many years ago until I was 100% satisfied with the quality and longevity of our wraps. I hope you will enjoy using them as much as we do.

If you are looking into ways to avoid using single-use plastic items, by wrapping your food in our natural, eco-friendly beeswax wraps, you can do your little bit to help. It is deeply humbling that we can be part of your journey to sustainability.
