Olinda Glass Works

Olinda Glass Works was started by Liz Newnham at the start of 2008.  Its name represents where Liz's studio is situated in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. It is also is the name of the suburb in Maui, Hawaii where Liz first fell in love with glass and all its possibilities.  A good friend of hers lives on the island of Maui and has been creating glass works for more than 10 years.

After seeing the artistic potenial of working with glass, it has been Liz's dream, once the kids were independently mobile, to devote the majority of her time to creating glass art pieces.

While working as a nurse for more than 34 years, Liz  married Max Newnham, a business writer for The Age and raised 6 children. Always looking for a new challenge, she gained certification as a welder by completing a blacksmiths course, attended various glass workshops, learned picture framing and studied complimentary medical therapies including massage and reflexology.
